Servers restart at 12:00, 17:00, 22:00, 03:00 and 08:00 server time. This is on the homepage. This is the official server restarts, yup - But I would say it really depends on which server you are playing on and how full the server is. S4 for example, feels like it restarts every 2 hours. This is likely your types.xml file needs updating. By default, bases, tents, flags, fireplaces are set to a fairly short lifetime. Find those items in the types.xml and update the lifetime to 999999999 and see if that helps. DayZ loot is governed by something called the Central Loot Economy or CLE. Part of what the CLE does is to periodically check the state of loot on the server. Items that are in a players hands, inventory or stash are not counted in these checks. Every time the server does one of these checks, it is searching to see what items are on the ground ...Everyone plays dayz differently. No it doesn’t reset. A server reset doesn’t effect loot or reset any damage. Ruined items or dead players will disappear though. Cool thanks. That makes for some interesting tactics. A base fence could be "prepared" prior to a full entry.
