Sometimes the gas block hole and/or gas tube hole are off a little. Use a 5/64 hand reamer in a T-handle tap wrench. Line up the gas tube and gas block holes, then run the reamer through them. It'll clean them up and line up the holes. The roll pin will go in easily. Don't go crazy or wallow it out just a quick pass and you'll feel the friction go away and the pin goes in easier but still adequately tight.
