I use shell T rotella in my 1800, have used mobil 1 as well. If yours has never been changed, get ready for a long weekend of flushing out the dirt and gunk that will be sitting on the bottom. This does NOT mean it has to be 10W-30. It should probably be around that weight/viscosity but does not have to be exactly that. If you are running the bike in particularly hot or cold weather, you may want to purposefully deviate from 10W-30. Second is to make sure that the oil is NOT labeled as "energy conserving".
