So you could get a 34 slot B class and use cargo bulkheads to upgrade to 40. The terminal at the very end has a choice of rewards, of freighter upgrade modules, cargo bulkhead or nanites. All 3 of those types can be randomly encountered when pulsing, though that last one is very rare as a random encounter, most commonly those are visited by buying and using emergency broadcast receivers from the scrap dealer.

Oct 18, 2022 · The recent tech cap increase added a few more slots, but I still can't add further bulkheads to the tech inventory, but they can be easily added to cargo. That said, I've only tried with mouse, and there was a bug a few experimentals ago that made adding to exosuit tech difficult. I'll grab another bulkhead and experiment a little.
As of v4.05 Exosuit is 60 Tech, 120 Cargo. Previously in 4.04 (which the Switch has right now) you could go up to 100 Tech slots, but 4.05 dialed it back to 60. I had 65 Tech in 4.04 and it was reduced to 60. That's a heads up to Switch users NOT to upgrade past 60 tech, btw. I checked that with some Vy'keen and was wrong. With all the Vy'keen i checked, i got 1 additional word translated for the Simple Translator, 2 for the Superior Translator and 3 for the Advanced Translator.
