Oct 16, 2007 · Just to make a few things clear, that seemed to of been still unclear at the other forums. 1. Ken does build his "stage 1" injectors. Probably the reason for such hit and miss quality. Some get good sets, others get leaky... crappy sets. 2. Ken does NOT, and has never built the Turbo-Cal pumps...or any pumps for that matter.

It’s almost like a death wobble, for a very breif period of time (maybe 5 seconds) and then it goes away, also it goes away if I speed... 1,496. Location. Northern Nevada. The Power Master for the Power Stroke Engine is the same starter as the one for the IDI Engine. Only difference is a spacer for the Power Stroke. Take off the spacer and it works for the IDI. I have read about the issues with two batteries wired in parallel "fighting" each other and surmised that an isolator or single battery would fix this issue.
New here I bought a 1989 S1600 x uhaul truck 7.3 IDI. 188,000 miles super clean and nice truck to convert to a motorcycle hauler. Going to be asking advice to get it to take 5 to 10 hour trips running 65=70 mph. It has the 4.33 rear and 5 speed. Can add a turbo it its needed.
Dont really need any head work, they flow better than PSD heads. The head bolts or studs are a weak point, the heads will lift above 10 or 12 psi in short order. Recently Wes or somebody floated the idea that 7.3 head gaskets were stronger than the 6.9 because of the filled coolant channel.If the post you picked is the one for the range the DNE-2 is in, nothing will happen. If the DNE-2 was in the other range you will hear the motor pulling the shift mechanism. So far I’ve got a $900 4x2 7.3idi with 2 C6 transmission, plus 3 parts injector pumps/spiders, and a rust free extended cab 86 body. I picked this truck up when I still lived in NC (now in Adams County, PA) after it had sat for ~5 years according to the previous owner. Turning up the fuel really requires not special tools at all. Just remove the cover on the IP gear housing and get the dowel at 12 O'clock. Remove the cover of the passenger's side of the IP and use a 5/32 allen to turn the screw clockwise. I could have used my auto driveshaft, but the 5 speed shaft was thicker and had larger u-joints.
