About Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve. Briarwood, home of Caroline Dormon, was willed in 1971 to the Foundation for the Preservation of the Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve, Inc. It is maintained by donations from her many friends. Briarwood consists of 120 acres of almost-virgin forest, with magnificent trees towering 100 feet tall.
