I took it to my mechanic and he cleared the codes w/ an agreement to bring it back if the warning lights came on again.

Bad gas could be the cause. I would check the air filter to make sure it's ok and that nothing found a home in the airbox or intake. I would be looking at the air mass sensor. Had a problem with a bad MAF on a different car that threw the same codes. Car ran ok but the light would come and go, then finally stayed on.

My impression is that several systems work together and a problem in one system can cause another to misbehave also. My solution has been to buy an inexpensive reader tool and keep it in the car so if a problem shows it's self I can read it on the road and reset it as needed.
