I just acquired a 1902 12 gauge Ithaca Hammerless Crass Double barrel shotgun s 1 2 Serial 76509 that uses NITRO POWDER STEEL shells. I was wondering if anyone has or knows about this type of weapon and the shells used for it.
Ithaca Hammerless Lewis Model Grade 1 Double Shotgun. Serial #101255, 12 GA (2 3/4"), 30" Damascus twist barrels choked full and full with bright, excellent bores. This a field grade Lewis model manufactured by Ithaca in 1904 and was the first model to introduce the top-bolt.This Ithaca shotgun comes with two matching serialized barrels, one Damascus and the other blue. Both have a single bead sight on a solid matte rib, the Damascus barrels are chambered 2 7/8", choked modified/modified with ejectors.
