I'd guess that the harness at the tank selector is what you'd need to rewire. Determine which pair of wires goes to the sender for the tank that you are going to keep and wire those directly to the sender in that tank. In the cab you could eliminate the selector switch in the same way. Should be pretty straight forwards IMO.
