1) Use a flatheaded screw driver and pull out all the frets. 2) Use 220 grit sandpaper (pretty fine grit) and sand it down till smooth (its rough after you take the frets out). 3) Take wood filler and fill each slot with it and let dry for a couple hours.The neck is about as svelte as a baseball bat and the 100% genuine ebonized fingerboard is pitiful. The finish flakes off for no apparant reason and the end pin is so poor it feels like the thing is mounted on a swivel. I'm a big fan of my fretted SR600 in ash, and was thinking of adding the fretless to my arsenal. I am an experienced fretless player, but am without one at the present.

HX Stomp is $699, HX FX is $649, and HX One is $299. It comes down to how many effects you use. If you only occasionally use effects, then the HX One is great. I don't think the One really needs scribble strips since there is only one effect at a time and that's on the display, so the display is the scribble strip. The Agro is one of my favorite pedals. I used it to replace a VT Bass pedal that I just couldn't get to settle in despite many attempts. The Agro is way more versatile and useable IMHO thanks to the very easy but poweful Contour and Presence knobs. You really don't need Low/Mid/Hi EQ control on the pedal at all.

The Zoom MS-60B has either more DSP power or better algorithms as far as I can tell. Otherwise I managed to dial in most of my tones. The foot switch makes it super practical, especially for looping.
