When I later removed the filter the faucet did not work properly without the aerator. Searching high and low on the internet brought me to this website and my needed part. It was perfect and exactly what I needed! I did another Delta faucet in the same manner. However, this time, rotating with the knife did not get the aerator moving. The solution this time was to use a pick and needle nose pliers to grab hold of the plastic threaded section by prying it away from the internal wall of the faucet end, and grabbing it with the needle nose pliers.The newer ones have a 1.8 GPM flow so the aerator is a different size. The thread size is what is needed and this aerator is listed as having a 15/16-27 thread size. I took my old aerator to Home Depot and used their thread guide to determine the correct size and I was able to purchase a generic swivel aerator to fit the faucet.I need an adapter for the 21996LF-SS two-handle faucet.
