mine jl is about 3-1/3 years old. 40k miles. Lots of start and stop driving. It started to start weaker and weaker. Replaced the main battery and aux (surprisingly easy). It starts super easy, but voltage when running read 11.6 and head down fast to 11.2 and then it says it’s gonna turn off. Will not rev above 3k rpm. I am going to replace the 12 volt battery and hopefully that will resolve the ESS problem. Some people have suggested--and I think them purists--that because the 2 batteries are of different types that it's best to charge them separately.
