It depends on whether or not it's deemed carrier damage or insufficient packaging by the sender. If it's deemed carrier damage they will get paid too. I have never heard of Mercari actually deem it anything other than insufficient packaging even with UPS Pack n Ship service. Hi guys.
They both arrived damaged. For the 1st item, they issued a partial refund. For the 2nd item, since it was a decent amount of damage (I offered and sent photos of the package which had no protective padding and was damaged), they stated they can issue a full refund once it is returned.Like someone else said it's fine selling high value items just ship on your own and fully insure the item. Anytime I list something more than $200 I ship on my own, fully insure the item and get signature confirmation. I just use pirate ship for this.
