It's due to the fact that elemental damage is affected by counter-damage. That means also buffs profit from counters. True. Also, just get a light Dex weapon, min. STR, 40 or 50 DEX and RoB-Flynn and you're good to go. 50 STR is a lot more beneficial than 50 DEX if you have the points to spare. Started playing Dark souls on my 1st hero, liked the fire longsword, but ive bought the estoc and liked its moveset. What would be a good build for the estoc? So far, i have 12 str, 12 dex, 16 adp and started as a knight (i hope it was the best class. I still can reroll the class, im not too far into the game).

I want the community opinion on which one of these weapons was the least balanced. Estoc has R1 spam for staggering anybody anytime and Warden Twinblade has R1 once, if it connects, Weaponart and win. I've used both, the estoc was pretty rad because it's range is ridiculous, it's speed is ridiculous and it's damage is ridiculous.

Estoc doesn't scale that great, so Lightning is always nice. Chaos (at max) will probably outclass that, but fire damage seems less useful in PVP to me. Not only does it pierce shields, but it is extremely fast, can combo into a normal stab, and even out-ranges spears/rapier pokes.
