I'd like to have a 30 in nice shape. My brother has a 30 in 35 Remington which is one of the few Glenfields of either ilk that I have seen in 35 Remington.

Like Richard said, the 30aw is basically a 336 with different furniture and some exterior hardware. Internally they are identical. When I Run Factory ammo over my Chrony they are all Close the Marlin is on average 30fps faster than the 94 the 788 with it's 22' Barrel is 30 fps faster than the 30 Glenfeild Marlin. But it ends with Factory ammo! the 788 is King with reloads, but it aint sexy like my old Glenfeild.
