Line is getting only 11.5 volts when key is turned on, then 12 volts for a few seconds when key is turned off. solenoid doesn't seem to click when key is turned on but vibrates in my hand for 3 seconds when key turned off. It doesn't have a plunger I can see must be a new design. When energized, that solenoid holds the throttle in the proper location for your truck to idle. When you turn off the key, the solenoid de-energizes allowing the throttle to essentially starve the engine for fuel. No fuel shut off solenoid on the VP$$, the VP$$ has a relay (called Fuel Pump) in the power center under the hood. I believe that the power to closed that relay coms from the ECM, just like the power for the Lift Pump. There are several with the same part number and are interchangeable.Check to see if there is a screw on the opposite side if the fuel pump from the solenoid, if so you can bypass the fuel cut of solenoid with it.
