Feb 6, 2018 · This is the second Kimber 1911 that I've run hard in a year, and it's the second time that I've had a pistol run exactly like it should on initial usage. The first pistol was a Master Carry Pro in .45 ACP that I shot over 1,100 rounds with, without adding any lubrication, right out of the box. That includes taking a Gunsite 250 Laser Sight class. I have an Ultra Carry, and the Compact CDP. Difference in size being the lenggth of the barrell. They both have a shorter grip than a standard 45, which makes them easier to conceal. Barrel length is not really a concern if you're talking about concealability. Fit and finish are both excellent, and it is actually tighter in slide fit than the the Kimber. With about 400 rounds through the Operator, I have had 2 FTF issues in the first 100 rounds, none since. The Operator has much better sights, and to me has less felt recoil than the Kimber.
