Honda accord whining noise when starting.

My 1996 Accord has developed a whine in one of the belt driven units that is not involving the engine or transmission. The car runs and drives fine but the squealing, grinding noise seemms to be coming from the area of the AC compressor. Rob, welcome to Drive Accord! A few thoughts.... 1) When you open up the lines (replaced the pump) as you did, it could take a while to get all the air out. You may have to turn the wheel lock-to-lock 10 times over the course of a couple of days to get those air bubbles out. While doing, make sure you check the fluid level often.
