Just a couple more differences between the 716 and 762: 762 has a chromeplated bcg. 716 has the entire piston system easily removed (vs. 762 where only the primary piston is easily removed). 762 has a standard length charging handle. 716 is longer than most. 15306.

Jan 25, 2022 · I personally believe the 716I is the best rifle you can buy for the money in the AR-308/AR-10 Battle Rifle category. I think the 716I can perform alongside its older sibling, the 716 G1 & G2 Piston guns probably to the surprise of many. The 716I may also be able to potentially shoot more accurately than the 716 due to it build type.

I personally would like to add an SFAR to my 7.62 harem to have a nice lightweight 7.62 carbine but it wouldn't be the first rifle I chose in 7.62x51. The SFAR will likely take a little modification. Mainly a different handguard to fit a rifle speed gas system. I can’t speak for the victor but Springfield guns are usually adequate. Sig 716i - maybe best value for money. Same weight as DD5. No gas block but can maybe use Sigs low tox suppressor and run well. Seems to eat everything. But, If I’m looking at this, I feel i might as well add a few hundred and get the DD5. SW MP10 - half pound lighter than above, great price. Would likely want to replace handguard/stock/trigger.Since most of us are in the United States - gonna go ahead and said to Get the HK MR308 in RAL8000. There will be some that will foam at the mouth that an AR in .308 Win cannot be an AR-15 and has to be an AR-10. My simple reply is, “You are wrong.”.So similar applies to 7.62 and .308, just reversed. Generally a rifle is marked for its intended caliber but then you can use the slightly smaller counterpart on it.
