About half the time, the 4WD light doesn't blink, but if I turn off the truck and start it again, it does blink. When I try to engage the 4LO in the cases when the light doesn't blink, the button doesn't have any response.This is likely due to the shifting process timing out (jammed t-case or diff actuator). If it's still flashing, move back to 4hi, drive forward a bit, then stop, put it in neutral, move to 2hi. Drive a little. Then if you still want to be in 4 wheel low, try moving back down to 4hi and then 4lo, moving a little between each change. I've used 4-high a few times. Today, I needed 4-low. I was in 4-high. It was working fine. When I turned the switch to 4 low while in neutral, the light on the dash just blinked rapidly. It wouldn't switch to 4 low.

I had this happened on my 2008 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L engine In the summer of 2021 with 220k miles. The shop replaced a wheel speed sensor and the fuel cap gasket. I used it this last Saturday with 4Hi for a few hours and everything was fine. Next morning the 4Lo light was flashing along with all the other lights as described above.

That ECU issue would make sense because the 4LO button doesn't even feel like a button anymore. So something is keeping that from thinking it's in 4WD.
